SEATTLE, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Holland America Line opened bookings for its 2028 Canada & New England season. The season operates from May through October 2028 aboard Volendam and Zuiderdam, marking the Canada & New England debut of the post-Evolution Zuiderdam. Cruises range from seven to 14 days, with longer Collectors’ Voyages available, and depart from Montréal, Québec City, Boston, New York and Fort Lauderdale. Holland America Line’s perfectly sized ships allow guests to sail farther into the region, exploring scenic waterways, historic ports and coastal communities throughout Atlantic Canada and New England. Select itineraries feature late-night calls in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and Saint John, New Brunswick, along with overnight stays in Québec City, giving guests more time to experience the destinations ashore.

“One of the things guests love most about Canada & New England is that you can experience the feel of Europe without crossing the Atlantic,” said Paul Grigsby, vice president of revenue planning and deployment for Holland America Line. “From the French influence of Montréal and Québec City to the maritime traditions of Atlantic Canada, the region offers an extraordinary mix of culture, history and natural beauty. We also bring those destinations to life on board through local entertainment, regional dining experiences and destination-focused programming, so the journey is just as immersive as the places we visit.”

The destination experience extends on board through regional dining, local entertainment and destination-focused programming. From fresh Atlantic seafood and local specialties to performances by regional musicians like Breton Thunder, guests can continue connecting with the culture and traditions of Canada & New England throughout the voyage.

First ship in Canada & New England to feature Holland America Evolution

As part of the 2028 Canada & New England season, guests will have the opportunity to sail aboard Zuiderdam following its Evolution transformation—Holland America Line’s largest fleet investment in its 153-year history. Zuiderdam marks the first post-Evolution ship to sail in Canada & New England, bringing the cruise line’s enhanced onboard experience to the region for the first time.

Among the additions debuting aboard Zuiderdam are purpose-built Solo Verandah staterooms, expansive new Bridgeview Suites with panoramic forward-facing views, and the Grand Dutch Café, a guest favorite inspired by Holland America Line’s Dutch heritage. The transformation also includes refreshed staterooms and suites, updated guest spaces and enhancements inspired by the line’s Pinnacle Class ships.

Natural wonders and historic cities

Canada & New England combines vibrant cities, dramatic coastal landscapes and some of North America’s most remarkable natural attractions. From the French influence of Montréal and Québec City to the rugged coastlines of Atlantic Canada and Newfoundland, the region offers a diverse blend of culture, history and scenery.

Holland America Line’s perfectly sized ships allow guests to get closer to the destination, with access to five national parks, seven UNESCO World Heritage sites and ports larger vessels often cannot reach. Throughout the season, guests can explore iconic landmarks, scenic waterways and historic coastal communities while experiencing the region’s rich maritime heritage.

Canada & New England’s natural beauty extends beyond its landscapes to the wildlife that calls the region home. Throughout the season, guests may spot beluga whales in the Saguenay Fjord, humpback, finback and minke whales throughout Atlantic Canada, and puffins along Newfoundland’s rugged coastline.
